Ravi Lamichhane: The Nepali TV Host and Record Breaker
Guinness World RecordNepalese television host Ravi Lamichhane has set a new world record for the longest marathon television show. His 62-hour show, "Lord Buddha Was Born in Nepal," surpassed the previous record of 52 hours set by Pavel Kuzheyev and Tatyana Danilenko in 2011 for a program on Ukrainian independence.

Mission of the Show
Lamichhane's show aimed to promote Nepal as the birthplace of Buddha and to showcase the country's rich cultural heritage and tourism potential. Amidst religious and historical discussions, the show also featured interviews with high-profile guests, including Maoist leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal "Prachanda," the Indian ambassador, and several national television stars.

Breaking the Record
Despite the grueling 62-hour broadcast, Lamichhane was not required to entertain guests and viewers continuously. He was granted five-minute breaks each hour and even managed to eat on air during interviews. Energy drinks played a significant role in sustaining him throughout the marathon.
Global Reach
The show was broadcast in Nepali, but has since been subtitled in English for news channels and online platforms, ensuring its global impact. Lamichhane's achievement not only earned him a Guinness World Record but also garnered international attention for Nepal's rich history and culture.
Early Life and Return to Nepal
Lamichhane, now 36, returned to Kathmandu from America with the sole purpose of hosting the record-breaking show. He strongly believes in showcasing Nepal's greatness to the world and hopes that his achievement will inspire others to explore the country's potential.
