Rachel Gilligan: The Confectioner Who Conquered Cravings
Rachel Gilligan, a 40-year-old confectioner from Cannock, Staffordshire, was once addicted to sugary treats and weighed over 90 kilograms at 157 centimeters tall. Her daily diet consisted of buttered white toast, fast food from McDonald's, chips, crisps, chocolate, and her own calorie-laden carrot cakes.

Transforming Her Lifestyle
With the encouragement of a friend, Rachel joined Weight Watchers, a global weight loss organization. Through the program, she swapped her unhealthy diet of sugar and fat with healthier alternatives, shedding over 30 kilograms. Today, she maintains a healthy weight of around 60 kilograms and never wants to return to her former "fat" life.

Resisting Temptation
Despite being surrounded by sugar, frosting, and caramel in her online cake business, "Cake Craft by Rachel," Rachel has learned to resist temptation. She admits to baking and decorating three to four cakes per week, and carrot cake was her weakness. Previously, she would order takeouts at least once a week.

A New Lease on Life
Rachel's life changed dramatically after joining Weight Watchers. She has lost almost 32 kilograms and gained a newfound confidence. Her social life has improved, and she now enjoys being more active.
Healthy Diet and Support
Rachel's current diet emphasizes lean protein (chicken, fish, ham), vegetables, and fruits. She has struggled with her weight for as long as she can remember, yo-yo dieting. However, after the birth of her third child in 2010, her weight spiraled out of control due to thyroid issues. She found solace in food, leading to a vicious cycle of self-loathing and isolation.
Seeking Help
Finally, Rachel reached out for professional help, feeling like she had hit rock bottom. She credits Weight Watchers with giving her the support and structure she needed to change her ways. She reached her target weight of 60 kilograms in July and is overjoyed, as she hasn't weighed that much since she was 19.
Gratitude and Future Plans
Rachel is grateful for the support of her family and husband throughout her journey. She is considering becoming a Weight Watchers group leader to help others who struggle with their weight. Her only regret is not seeking help sooner.
