Manhattan String Quartet and International Acclaim
In the 1930s, Weinstok joined the celebrated Manhattan String Quartet. The ensemble embarked on an illustrious European tour in 1935, captivating audiences with their masterful performances. Notably, Béla Bartók graced the stage as a guest pianist during the quartet's concert in Budapest, playing Brahms and Franck's piano quintets. The quartet's reputation soared, leading to a triumphant tour of the Soviet Union in 1936.
Post-Quartet Career and Renowned Collaborations
Following the dissolution of the Manhattan String Quartet in 1937, Weinstok found success as a member of the Roth Quartet until 1947. His versatility extended beyond chamber music, as he also performed with the prestigious NBC Symphony Orchestra under the baton of the legendary Arturo Toscanini. Weinstok briefly explored conducting on Broadway, further showcasing his musical prowess.
Exceptional Instructor at Manhattan School of Music
