Early Life and FamilyRain Pryor was born in Los Angeles, California, to actress Shelley Bonus and comedian Richard Pryor. Her mother was a Jewish dancer, while her paternal grandparents raised Rain, exposing her to both Jewish and Black cultures. Pryor's interracial background led to her feeling both pride and guilt growing up.

Education and Early Career
In 1987, Pryor graduated from Beverly Hills High School. Soon after, she landed the role of TJ in the ABC sitcom "Head of the Class."

Television and Stand-Up Career
Pryor went on to play the role of lesbian drug addict Jackie in the Showtime series "Rude Awakening" for several seasons. She also made appearances on numerous talk shows, including those hosted by Johnny Carson, Jay Leno, Craig Ferguson, and Tavis Smiley.
