Ramil Eldar Guliyev is an Azerbaijani sprinter of Turkish origin. He is a record holder in Azerbaijan for 60, 100, and 200 meters, and also holds the junior European record of 20.04 seconds, set at the World University Games in Belgrade in 2009. Guliyev's father, Eldar Guliyev, serves as his main coach.
Olympic Games
At the Olympic Games held at the Luzhniki Stadium, Ramil Guliyev competed in the 200 meters event. On August 18, he finished second in the preliminary round with a time of 20.78 seconds, surpassing Shingo Suetsugu (Japan), Sandro Viana (Brazil), Omar Juma Al-Salfa (United Arab Emirates), and Churandy Martina from the Netherlands Antilles.
