Early Life and Education
Azerbaijani actor Ramiz Malik, widely acclaimed for his contributions to theater and cinema, was born on August 4, 1943, in Baku. In 1963, he enrolled in the Department of Drama and Film Acting at Azerbaijan State Theater Institute имени Мирзы Ага Алиева, where he honed his skills under esteemed mentors such as Rza Takhmasib, Tofig Kazimov, and Malik Dadashyev. He graduated in 1967.
Career at the Academic National Drama Theater
Upon graduating, Malik joined the Academy of National Drama Theater in 1967. As an accomplished actor, he showcased his talent in numerous stage productions, including "East City" (Bahruz) by Anvar Mammadkhanov, "If You Don't Believe..." (Adil) by Alibala Hajiyev, and "Who Has a Question?" (Justice) by Nariman Hasanzade.
Directorial Endeavors
Beyond acting, Malik also ventured into directing and assisting in the production of his works, such as "Yasat Tepe" by Ekram Ailisli, "Stranger" by Leonard Franco, and "Khurshibanu Natavan" by Ilyas Efendiev. These productions were staged under the guidance of renowned artistic directors such as Tofig Kazimov, Oruj Gurbanov, and Marahim Farzalibayov.
Legacy and Honors
Throughout his career, Malik garnered numerous accolades, including the prestigious title of People's Artist of the Azerbaijan Republic (1998) and the State Prize of the Azerbaijan SSR (1984). His exceptional performances left an indelible mark on Azerbaijani theater and cinema.
Final Resting Place
After a prolonged battle with an unspecified illness, Ramiz Malik passed away on December 14, 2023. He was laid to rest with great honor at the II Alley of Honor in Baku.
