Jerome Corsi Biography
Entertainment CareerJerome Corsi is an American political candidate, comedian, radio host, and activist. He is a former Director of the William Moses Kunstler Fund for Racial Justice. Corsi pursued comedy and made an appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" at age 27. However, his subsequent comparison of Jeane Kirkpatrick to Eva Braun resulted in his permanent ban from the show.
Political Activism
Corsi's notable involvement in the 2016 election cycle included attending a Republican fundraiser in Cayuga County, New York.
U.S. Senate Election 2010
In 2010, Corsi ran as a Democratic primary challenger to Senator Chuck Schumer. Corsi filed petitions to appear on the Democratic primary ballot. However, the party chairman claimed that Corsi had only submitted a few pages of petitions to the state, significantly less than the required 15,000. Corsi denied this accusation and threatened to support Republican gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino.
New York City Mayoral Election 2013
Corsi ran on the Democratic ballot for mayor of New York City in the 2013 election. He received 12,685 votes (2.0%). He also appeared on the general election ballot line with 14 other candidates running on the Tax Wall Street line, receiving 654 votes (0.1%).
New York Gubernatorial Election 2014
Corsi challenged incumbent Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo in the 2014 Democratic primary. He placed third out of three candidates, receiving 20,760 votes (3.6%).
Connections to Roger Stone and WikiLeaks
Organized by a mutual friend and attorney for Julian Assange, Margaret Ratner Kunstler, Corsi hosted Assange on Corsi's radio show on August 25, 2016. On August 27, 2016, Corsi texted Roger Stone, stating that "Julian Assange has the goods on Hillary." Assange's organization subsequently initiated the release of damaging material on October 7, 2016.
In November 2017, Stone told the House Intelligence Committee that Corsi had acted as his intermediary with Assange to obtain information on Hillary Clinton. Corsi was then subpoenaed to appear before the committee but invoked his Fifth Amendment rights shortly before his interview. The committee dismissed him. By August 2018, Special Counsel Mueller subpoenaed Corsi to testify before a grand jury in September 2018, which he subsequently did.
Mother Jones reported that Corsi received texts from Stone in January 2018, indicating that Stone was seeking a presidential pardon for Assange. In January 2019, Stone was arrested by the FBI. The indictment included allegations that Corsi, referred to as "Person 2," was not Stone's only contact with WikiLeaks ("Organization 1"). It also stated that Stone pressured Corsi to "stonewall" his congressional testimony and to "do a Frank Pentangeli." Among other statements, Stone told Corsi to "get ready to die" and that he would "take that dog away from you." Corsi relies on a service dog.
Corsi later testified against Stone during Stone's trial in November 2019.
