Early Olympic Success
Van Asbroeck's Olympic journey commenced in 1908 at the London Games. He showcased his skills in three shooting disciplines, securing a bronze medal in the team small-bore rifle event. Despite not claiming medals in individual events, he finished 25th and 28th in the 300-meter and 1,000-yard rifle competitions, respectively.
A Champion in Stockholm
The 1912 Stockholm Olympics marked a significant triumph for Van Asbroeck. He triumphed in the free rifle individual competition, becoming an Olympic champion. Additionally, he led his team to a fourth-place finish in the free rifle team event. Van Asbroeck's versatility was evident in his performance in the other rifle events, where he placed first at 600 meters, 22nd at 300 meters, and fifth in the team competition.

Eight years later, at the 1920 Antwerp Olympics, Van Asbroeck focused on free rifle shooting. He achieved a 33rd place in the individual competition and helped his team secure a seventh-place finish.
