Early Career and Empoli Years
Alessandro Allegretti, an Italian midfielder, began his career at AC Milan. At 18, he was loaned to Lecco, making 55 appearances over two seasons. In 1998, he joined Empoli, but was loaned to Reggina for a season. The following two seasons saw Allegretti feature for Empoli in Serie B.
Breakthrough at Como
In 2001, Allegretti moved to Como. During the 2001/02 season, he notched 2 goals in 28 matches, contributing to their promotion to Serie A. He made his Serie A debut on September 1, 2002, against Roma.
Loan Spells and Short Stints
Allegretti spent the next season on loan at Modena, where he scored his first Serie A goal on November 2, 2003, against Perugia. He was then loaned to Chievo in 2004, but played sparingly. The second half of the 2004/05 season saw him join Venezia before moving to Avellino.
Captaincy at Triestina
In 2006, Allegretti became captain of Triestina, leading the team for three seasons. He made 119 appearances in Serie B, becoming a mainstay in the midfield.
Return to Serie A with Bari and Injury Woes
Allegretti received an offer from Serie A newcomers Bari in 2009 and couldn't resist the opportunity. He scored his first goal for the club on September 13, 2009, against Palermo. He also scored against Livorno twice.
After joining Grosseto in 2010, injuries and coaching changes limited Allegretti's playing time. He returned to Triestina in 2011, marking the end of his professional career.
