Rick Genest, also known as Zombie Boy, was born in 1985 in Châteauguay, Quebec, Canada. Growing up in a working-class family, he was the oldest child. At the age of 15, Genest underwent a serious brain surgery to remove a tumor. Despite this challenging experience, he developed a passion for body art.

Genest got his first tattoo at the age of 16, out of respect for his parents.
