Childhood and Early Life
Richard Lepers was born on September 12, 1985, in Varaklāni, Latvia. He and his younger brother Oskar grew up in Talsi, where they pursued various sports and hobbies together, including soccer, basketball, skiing, ceramics, art, theater, and music.
Education
Lepers attended the international theater course in Germany and Sweden, developing his acting skills from an early age. In 2007, he graduated from the Latvian Academy of Culture with a degree in acting. Oskar also followed in his brother's footsteps, becoming a radio and television presenter.
Theater and Music
After graduating, Lepers joined the troupes of the Mikhail Chekhov Riga Russian Theatre and the "Observatory" Theatre. He starred in classical productions such as "Farewell to Arms," "Solomons Last Love," and "We." Lepers also performs in Raimonds Pauls' musicals.
Beginning in 2015, Lepers began releasing original songs and music videos. Some of his popular tracks include "Nebūtu Tevīs," "Domu Iela," and "Tu Manu Skatienu Sien." He often collaborates with other artists and regularly performs solo concerts. Recently, Lepers has appeared as a guest actor on various Latvian stages.
Film
Lepers' film debut came in 2007, followed by a breakthrough role in the historical drama "The Only Photograph" (2008). He has since starred in several films based on true events and biographies, including "Dream Team 1935" (2012), "Duel. Pushkin – Lermontov" (2014), and "The Great" (2015).
In 2016, Lepers played the lead role in the dramatic mini-series "Black Flower," set in the aftermath of the Chernobyl disaster. He also starred in the World War II drama "Convoy" and portrayed an English ambassador in the historical series "Janissary."
Lepers has also appeared in comedic films such as "Bender: The Beginning" (2020) and "Svaty 7." He has collaborated with international stars in the thriller "Ideal Crime" (2021) with Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Luke Kleintank and the action thriller "Witch Hunt" (2022) with Robert Knepper, Mickey Rourke, and Jackson Rathbone.
Personal Life
In 2020, Lepers married architect Krista Paula Zakē. They have three daughters: Audrey (born 2021), Patricia (born 2023), and a third daughter whose name has not been publicly disclosed. Lepers remains close with his brother Oskar, despite their contrasting personalities.
Present Day
Lepers recently appeared in the Russian television series "Trader" (2023). He continues to work in both film and theater, balancing his artistic pursuits with his growing family.
