Purra's political journey began in 2019 when she was elected as a Member of the Eduskunta (Finnish Parliament) from the Uusimaa constituency. She held the position of First Deputy Chair of her party, True Finns.
Leadership of True Finns
In June 2021, the former Chairman of True Finns, Jussi Halla-aho, announced his resignation. At a party congress held in Seinäjoki on August 14, 2021, Purra was elected as the new Chairman of True Finns. She received 774 out of 1302 votes, securing a clear majority over her competitors.
