Early Life and Background

Born on June 5, 1980, in Milan, Italy, Rik de Voest moved to South Africa with his family at the age of one. Growing up in Pretoria, he began playing tennis at the age of six and decided to pursue it full-time at fourteen.

Professional Career

De Voest turned professional in 1999. Standing at 6 feet tall and weighing 150 pounds, he is a right-handed player with a two-handed backhand. His career earnings total over $1 million.

Singles Career

De Voest has achieved a career-high singles ranking of 110 (August 21, 2006). While he has not won any singles titles on the ATP Tour, he has qualified for the main draw of Wimbledon in 2007.

Doubles Career

In doubles, De Voest has won two ATP Challenger series titles: the Beijing Challenger in 2007 with Ashley Fisher and the Dubai Challenger in 2009 with Dmitry Tursunov. His career-high doubles ranking is 39 (April 6, 2009).
