Robert Parish: A Titan of the NBA

Robert Parish, the legendary center who played two decades in the NBA, holds the record for most games played (1611) and ranks fifth in minutes logged (45704). Born on August 30, 1953, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Parish began his career with the Golden State Warriors in 1976.

A Dynasty in Green and White

After four seasons, Parish joined the Boston Celtics in 1980 and became a key part of a dynasty alongside Larry Bird and Cedric Maxwell. In his first season in Boston, Parish helped the Celtics win their 14th NBA championship after a four-year drought. He would add two more titles to his tally in 1984 and 1986, contributing significantly with his scoring and rebounding.

Career Twilight and Fourth Championship

With Bird's retirement in 1992, the Celtics began a rebuilding phase and traded Parish to the Charlotte Hornets in 1994. In Charlotte, Parish played alongside Alonzo Mourning and helped the team achieve 50 wins in the 1994-1995 regular season. After one more season in Charlotte, Parish joined the Chicago Bulls in 1996, where he won his fourth NBA championship at the age of 43.

Legacy of Excellence

Retiring in 1997 after a remarkable career, Parish ranks among the NBA's all-time greats in rebounding (14715) and blocked shots (2361). His longevity, consistency, and contributions to multiple championship teams solidified his legacy as one of the most dominant centers in league history.
