Biography of Roberto Assagioli
Roberto Assagioli (1889 – 1974) was an Italian physician and philosopher, known as one of the founders of psychosynthesis, a psychological approach rooted in transpersonal psychology. He developed the theory of subpersonalities, which represent different aspects of an individual in the form of inner voices often conflicting with one another.

Contributions to Psychosynthesis
Assagioli's teachings on individual development, influenced by the work of Carl Jung, divide the process into personal and transpersonal psychosynthesis. Contrary to Jung's division of external and internal individuation, Assagioli places the integration of personality not in the "I" but in the transpersonal Self, seen as the spiritual center of identity.

Levels of Consciousness
In Assagioli's anthropological model, the individual is represented by several overlapping levels: the deep unconscious, the middle (collective) unconscious, the higher unconscious (superconsciousness), and the pinnacle of which is marked by the Self. The mechanism of development involves the stable shifting of the locus of consciousness (the "I") from lower levels to higher ones.
Published Works
Assagioli authored several notable works in the field of psychosynthesis, including "Nervous Disorders in Spiritual Growth," "Psychosynthesis," and "The Act of Will." These publications explore different aspects of his theories and provide practical guidance for individuals seeking to integrate their subpersonalities and achieve personal well-being and spiritual growth.
