Biography of Roberto De Biasio

Roberto De Biasio, an Italian opera tenor, was born in Sicily. He studied music in Naples, specializing in the flute, and also pursued modern music literature at Cassino University. Later, he became a professor at the same university. De Biasio honed his vocal skills under the guidance of Malcolm King and Dennis O'Neill. In December 2006, he made his professional singing debut in the role of Edgardo in "Lucia di Lammermoor" at the Bergamo Theater, which proved to be incredibly successful. The young and talented tenor quickly gained recognition from professionals and opera enthusiasts alike, being hailed as one of the most significant contemporary Verdi tenors. The "New York Times," "San Francisco Chronicle," and "Boston Globe" praised his performances, describing him as a brilliant tenor.

Roberto De Biasio has won numerous vocal competitions, including the "Isole Borromee" international competition, the European competition "Musica da camera," and the prestigious "Beniamino Gigli Award," among others. While primarily performing in Italy, he has also graced international opera stages, such as the Théâtre de Genève, Opernhaus Zurich, Opéra de Montreal, Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, Sejong Theater in Seoul, and Poly Theatre of Beijing. In Italy, opera enthusiasts could hear De Biasio in renowned theaters such as Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, Arena di Verona, Teatro Verdi of Trieste, Teatro Donizetti of Bergamo, Teatro Pavarotti of Modena, Teatro Regio di Parma, and Teatro Bellini of Catania. He made his appearance at the renowned Metropolitan Opera in New York in "Simon Boccanegra" and performed in "Luisa Miller" at the Opéra Bastille in Paris. De Biasio also debuted in the Vienna State Opera with the opera "Simon Boccanegra."
