Rodolfo Barteczko was born in Curitiba, Brazil, to Polish parents. As a son of a Pole and a German, he inherited a strong athletic build and a passion for football. In his home state of Paraná, he began his football journey with the club "Palestra Itália", which translates to "Italian Arena".
Club Career
After making a name for himself in Palestra Itália, Barteczko moved to "Força e Luz" club in Rio Grande do Sul. His impressive performances there caught the attention of the famous Uruguayan club "Nacional." With Nacional, Barteczko achieved great success, winning two national championships. Later, he returned to Brazil and joined "Botafogo," where he triumphed with a Rio state championship victory in 1935.
International Career
Barteczko's exceptional talent earned him a spot on the Brazilian national team. He represented Brazil in three World Cups: 1930, 1934, and 1938. As a striker, he made significant contributions to the team's performance on the international stage.
Later Life and Legacy
After retiring from football, Barteczko settled in Rio de Janeiro, where he passed away at the age of 77. Throughout his career, he left an indelible mark on Brazilian football as one of its most skilled and respected players.
