Early Life and Education

Oleg Radzinsky was born in 1958 into a family of renowned writers and actors. His father, Edvard Radzinsky, was a prominent playwright, while his mother, Alla Geraskina, was an actress and the daughter of children's writer Lia Geraskina. After completing high school, Radzinsky enrolled in the Philological Faculty of Moscow State University (MSU), where he later pursued postgraduate studies.

Political Dissent and Imprisonment

In 1982, Radzinsky's political activism caught the attention of the authorities, leading to his arrest under Article 70 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (RSFSR) for "Anti-Soviet Agitation and Propaganda." He spent a year in the Lefortovo Prison before being exiled to the Tomsk Oblast for logging work and later to Vladimir for exile.

Exile and Emigration

Radzinsky's exile ended in 1987 when he was pardoned by the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet as part of Mikhail Gorbachev's policies of liberalization and reconciliation with the West. He emigrated to the United States, where he enrolled at Columbia University and earned a Master's degree in International Finance in 1991.

Investment Banker and Business Executive

Radzinsky worked as an investment banker in the United States before returning to Russia in 2002. He served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rambler Media Group until 2006.

Later Life and Family

Today, Radzinsky resides with his family in France and the United Kingdom. He is married and has four children.
