Early Life and Judo Career

Rousey was born in Riverside County, California, to parents Ron Rousey and AnnMaria De Mars. Her mother was a renowned judoka and became the first American to win a world championship in judo. Rousey dropped out of school before completing her education but eventually earned her high school diploma. She started practicing judo at the age of 11, alongside her mother. At 17, Rousey became the youngest judoka to compete in the Olympics, representing the United States at the Athens Games in 2004. She won a gold medal at the Junior World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, in 2004, and later became the first American judoka to win a title at the A-Level Championship in Birmingham.
