Rostislav Vysotsky: A Renowned Polish Organist of Ukrainian Descent
Rostislav Vysotsky is an accomplished Polish organist of Ukrainian heritage. His exceptional talent and dedication to the instrument have earned him international recognition and acclaim.
Early Life and Education
Born in Ukraine, Vysotsky's musical journey began in Minsk, Belarus, where he graduated from the Republican Lyceum at the Belarusian Academy of Music as a pianist, organist, and musicologist. During his time in Belarus, he received scholarships from the "New Names" Foundation, the Ministry of Culture, and the Presidential Foundation for outstanding artistic achievements. He studied under renowned Belarusian organist Konstantin Sharov.
From 1998 to 2003, Vysotsky pursued further organ studies in Warsaw, Poland, as a scholarship recipient from the Polish Government, the Stefan Batory Foundation, and the European Open Society Institute. He earned a Master of Arts degree with honors and the highest grade from the Fryderyk Chopin Music Academy under Professor Joachim Grubich.
Career Highlights
Vysotsky is currently a doctoral student at the Fryderyk Chopin Music Academy and the organist of St. Emmanuel's Anglican Church in Warsaw. He has performed extensively at numerous international festivals and concert halls in over 10 countries, boasting a repertoire of over 1500 organ works from the 16th to the 20th century. He has collaborated with renowned soloists, orchestras, and ensembles.

His scholarly contributions have been featured on television and radio broadcasts in Poland, Ukraine, Switzerland, Belarus, and the Vatican.
In 1999, Vysotsky repaired the organ at the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Miory, Belarus. From 2000 to 2002, he served as a soloist at the Lviv House of Organ Music in Ukraine as a member of the All-Ukrainian Society of Organists and Organ Masters.
Affiliations and Honors
Vysotsky is an active member of the Société Charles-Valentin Alkan in Paris and the Feliks Nowowiejski Society in Poznań. He has served as a juror for organ competitions such as the XIX Organ Conversatory in Legnica, Poland (2004), and the International Organ Competition in Saint-Maurice, Switzerland (2009).
