Biography of RuPaul
RuPaul is an American actor, model, singer, songwriter, and drag queen (not in the medical sense of the word). He rose to fame in the 1990s through a series of television shows, films, and music albums. He initially started his career in Atlanta, Georgia, in the 1980s, where he appeared in low-budget underground projects, worked on music recordings, and performed in nightclubs. In the early 1990s, RuPaul was primarily active in Georgia and New York, performing in clubs both independently and as part of popular groups. He became a regular performer at the annual transvestite festival "Wigstock," and even made an appearance in a documentary film dedicated to the festival.

In 1993, RuPaul released several albums, primarily featuring dance and house music. His track "Supermodel (You Better Work)" became unexpectedly popular, despite the dominance of grunge rock and gangsta rap at the time. The song gained widespread recognition through airplay on major channels and radio stations. RuPaul's next two music videos, "Back to My Roots" and "A Shade Shady," were also well-received. However, his single "House of Love," released between these two videos and without a music video, failed to make an impact.

RuPaul was invited to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards, where he engaged in a verbal exchange with fellow comedian Milton Berle. RuPaul later revealed that the conflict began backstage due to Milton's rude behavior. Following his success in the music industry, RuPaul signed a modeling contract with "MAC Cosmetics," becoming the world's first drag queen supermodel.

In 1996, RuPaul released his second notable album, "Foxy Lady," under the Los Angeles-based "Rhino Records" label. Despite his peak popularity, the album performed poorly and failed to chart on "Billboard's" top 200. However, the single "Snapshot" gained success in dance clubs and reached the top 100 of the "Billboard" chart. In 2004, RuPaul released his third album, "Red Hot," through his own company, "RuCo Inc." Although the album received limited press coverage, the lead single "Looking Good, Feeling Gorgeous" achieved success on dance music charts.

In the mid-2000s, RuPaul began producing and hosting the reality show "RuPaul's Drag Race," which premiered in February 2009. The show featured renowned drag queens competing for the title of the best. The first season of the program was successful, and it remains unclear if there will be future seasons. "RuPaul's Drag Race" aired on the "Logo" channel, which RuPaul has collaborated with for a long time. "Logo" is one of the largest networks focused on LGBTQ+ themes. Additionally, RuPaul has hosted the annual "NewNowNext Awards" ceremony for the network.
