Origins and Early Years (1967-1991)

In 1967, Dmitry Koptilov and Viktor Bondaryuk were born in the city of Kustanay. They shared a passion for music, with Koptilov taking up the bass guitar at age fifteen and Bondaryuk practicing drums.

Formation and Breakthrough (1991-1995)

In 1991, Koptilov and Bondaryuk officially formed "Russkiy Razmer" in Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg). They had previously played in different bands, but their friendship and shared musical vision brought them together.

During their early years, the band focused on pop music and enlisted the talents of guitarist Alexander Tyurin and singer Dmitry Khyl. They participated in Eduard Khyl's concert program and performed at the "Buff" theater in 1993.

Success and International Exposure (1995-2002)

In 1995, "Russkiy Razmer" released their debut album, "Yu-A-Yu," which featured the hit singles "Batman" and "Zvezda Razluki." The album was a success and helped propel the band into the limelight.

They collaborated with producer Vadim Volodin and performed with DJ Dmitry Nagiyev, who contributed to the group's creative process. "Russkiy Razmer" toured extensively throughout Europe, the US, Canada, the UK, Israel, and Turkey.

Collaboration and Evolution (2000-2010)

In 2000, Eleonora Markova joined the band as a vocalist. With her addition, they released the album "Next," which included cover versions of Soviet film songs and a collaboration with the band "Chizh i K."

The band continued to experiment and evolve their sound, releasing albums such as "Menya Kolbasit" and "Ya Eyo Khoy." They also reunited with Professor Lebedinsky in 2004 for a brief revival of their collaboration.

Transitions and the Legacy (2010-Present)

In 2010, "Russkiy Razmer" released their album "!Slushchay." The band underwent a lineup change in 2005 with the departure of Viktor Bondaryuk, who formed his own group, "Razmer Project." Igor Lutsenko replaced Bondaryuk on drums.

The band continues to tour and perform, leaving a lasting legacy in the Russian music scene. Their catchy melodies, energetic performances, and humorous lyrics have earned them a loyal fan base that has spanned generations.
