Salakhat Agayev: A Rising Star in Azerbaijani Football
Early Life and CareerSalakhat Agayev is an Azerbaijani footballer who plays as a goalkeeper. He started his career with Inter Baku in 2008 and has since established himself as one of the most promising young goalkeepers in the country.
International Experience
Agayev has played for all of Azerbaijan's national teams at various age levels. He was included in the Under-21 squad that participated in the first Black Sea Games, where they kept a clean sheet throughout the tournament. This performance caught the attention of Turkish scouts, who invited him to join Kasım Karabekirspor.
Club Career
In 2009, Agayev was included in Inter Baku's squad for the Europa League. He has also represented Azerbaijan's main, youth, and junior national teams.
Call-up to the Senior Team
Agayev's impressive performances earned him a call-up to the senior national team in 2009 under manager Berti Vogts. Vogts praised Agayev's potential and stated that he had called him up despite his young age.
Training Camp in Germany
At Vogts's behest, Agayev participated in a training camp in Germany with Hannover 96 from September 21-29, 2009.
European Championship Qualifiers
Agayev was a member of the Azerbaijan Under-19 team that competed in the qualifiers for the 2008 European Championship in Hungary.
Match against Serbia
On March 23, 2007, Agayev played for Azerbaijan's Under-21 team in a qualifying match against Serbia in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. They emerged victorious, advancing to the elite round of the 2007 European Championship.
