Early Life and Education
Sandra Borch was born on April 23, 1988, in Lavangen, Troms, Norway. In 2007, she graduated from high school in Salangen and went on to earn a master's degree in law from the University of Tromsø.
Political Beginnings
Sandra's political journey began in 2006 with her involvement in the Lavangen Youth Council. She also served on the board of the Lavangen Sports Club from 2006 to 2008. In 2007, she became the leader of the Center Party's youth wing in Lavangen and later expanded her leadership role to the Troms county chapter.
Rise through the Ranks
Over the next decade, Sandra held various leadership positions within the Center Party. She served as the head of international affairs for the youth wing from 2009 to 2010, deputy leader of organizational affairs from 2010 to 2011, and vice president of the Nordic Center Party Youth Organization from 2010 to 2012. In 2011, she reached the pinnacle of the youth wing by becoming its leader, a position she held until 2013.
Local and Regional Politics
In addition to her party commitments, Sandra also made her mark in local and regional politics. She served as a municipal council member for Lavangen from 2007 to 2011 and as a member of the Troms County Council from 2011 to 2015. During her tenure in the County Council, she chaired the Committee for Industry, Culture, and Health.
Member of Parliament
Sandra's political career took a significant leap forward when she was elected to the Norwegian Parliament (Storting) in 2017. She was re-elected in 2021 and served on the Committee for Energy and Environment. In 2021, she was appointed to the position of Minister of Agriculture and Food in the Støre government.
Other Pursuits
Beyond politics, Sandra has also shown her creative side. She participated in the 15th season of the Norwegian version of "Dancing with the Stars" in 2019.
