Biography of Stepan Kazaryan
Stepan Kazaryan is an Armenian footballer who played as a goalkeeper for the club "Banants" and the Armenian national team. He began his professional career with Araks Ararat and in 2002, he won the silver medals and advanced to the Premier League. However, Araks performed poorly in the elite league, finishing last. Kazaryan played only 7 matches but conceded 27 goals. In the 2005 season, the club played 7 matches before withdrawing from the first league, and the results were annulled. Kazaryan was left without a club.
In 2007, he signed a contract with Yerevan-based "Banants". In the same year, he became a silver medalist and won the Armenian Cup with the team. Since 2009, he has been a member of the main squad. In the 2010 season, Kazaryan showed outstanding performances and physical form, making him the most reliable goalkeeper of the season.
Kazaryan was under the observation of the Armenian national team coaching staff for a long time, but he was constantly assigned the role of a reserve goalkeeper. However, on May 25, 2010, in a friendly match between the Armenian national team and the Uzbekistan national team held at the Republican Stadium in Yerevan, Kazaryan was given the opportunity to defend the honor of the Armenian national team due to the absence of Roman Berezovsky and Gevorg Kasparov. He became the 10th goalkeeper in the history of the Armenian national team. Kazaryan played the full match and conceded a goal in the 67th minute, but by that time, the Armenian national team was already leading. The final score was 3-1 in favor of the Armenian national team.
Overall, Kazaryan played 2 matches, conceded 4 goals, won 1 game, drew 0, and lost 1.
