Early Life and Family

Sara Nazarbayeva was born on February 12, 1941, in the village of Kyzyl-Zhar in the Karaganda region of Kazakhstan. She descends from the Murat subclan of the Kuandik clan of the Argyn tribe. She was married and divorced once before marrying Nursultan Nazarbayeva in 1962. They have three daughters: Dariga (born 1963), Dinara (born 1967), and Aliya (born 1980).

Philanthropy and Social Work

In February 1992, Nazarbayeva founded and became president of the Republican Children's Charity Fund "Bobek." She has also served as president of the Kazakhstan SOS Children's Village Fund (a branch of the Austrian foundation Kinderdorf International) since July 1994. Additionally, she has been chairperson of the board of trustees of the "Demography" charity fund since March 1999.

Education and Self-Knowledge Project

Nazarbayeva is the author of the educational project "Self-Knowledge," which aims to revive moral and spiritual values. Its focus is on instilling universal values and promoting harmony within individuals and their surroundings.
