Biography of Sarah Rue

Sarah Rue, an American actress, is best known for her roles as Carmen Ferrara in the comedy series 'Popular' and Claudia Casey in the series 'Less than Perfect'. She has also had guest roles in the series 'Will & Grace' and 'The Big Bang Theory'. Recently, Rue landed the lead role of Penny Higgins in the series 'Eastwick'.

Early Life and Career

Sarah Rue, born Sarah Schlackman, was born in New York City to Joan, a local municipal employee, and director Mark Schlackman. She grew up in New York, observing her parents' Broadway careers. Rue began performing at the age of nine, playing the daughter of Kevin Spacey's character in 'Rocket Gibraltar'. Shortly after, she landed the role of young Rosanna in the series 'Roseanne', which marked her television debut. Critics took notice of her work for the first time, and she subsequently appeared in the comedy 'Grand' and guest roles in projects such as 'Phenom', 'Minor Adjustments', 'Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane', 'ER', 'The Division', and 'Popular'.

More recently, it was revealed that Rue is engaged to radio host Kevin Price.
