Biography of Sarah Lee

Sarah Lee is a young American photographer with a unique and recognizable style. She is particularly known for her captivating underwater photographs. Sarah was born and raised in Kona District on the Big Island of Hawaii. According to her own words, she lives with her camera glued to her eye, and her photographs reflect the beauty of the nature and people that surround her. The sea, the sun, and people are the three main subjects of her work. Sarah's goal is to capture and highlight the beauty of her surroundings. Photography is not only a way for her to immortalize the breathtaking moments that fill her life, but also a tool to address inner conflicts. It allows Sarah to be an active participant rather than a passive observer, and serves as a means to express her feelings and emotions. Photography is another way for her to tell stories visually.

Early Work and Education

Sarah started taking photographs in school, capturing everything around her in an attempt to bring to life all that she had observed over the years. After several years, Sarah now photographs underwater and water motion, captures surfers, creates portraits, fashion shoots, and wedding photographs. She graduated from Chapman University in Orange, California, where she specialized in advertising production and documentary films. She previously had an interest in graphic and web design. Photography has influenced Sarah's perception of the world and her way of thinking. It has taught her to appreciate details and notice subtle nuances, to see the bigger picture and the details within it, to discern what is important and what is not. Sarah looks at everything - people, landscapes, objects - from a spatial perspective, evaluating composition, light, and how people interact with it all.

Passion for the Ocean

Sarah's favorite moments to photograph are during sunrises and sunsets and in the ocean. She finds the ocean to be a force that cannot be controlled, and she enjoys surrendering to its whims and going with the flow. In her free time, Sarah enjoys surfing, swimming, and spending time with friends. She also loves traveling, grocery shopping, cooking, and watching documentary films. Sarah finds inspiration in the people around her, particularly her close friends, as well as in new places and, of course, her favorite photographs.
