Early Life and EducationSarghis Kakabadze was born in 1886 in the village of Kukhi near Kutaisi, Georgia. He pursued his education at the Faculty of Oriental Studies at the University of St. Petersburg, graduating in 1910.
Academic Career
From 1911 to 1918, Kakabadze taught history at a gymnasium in Tbilisi. In 1919, he joined the faculty of Tbilisi State University as a professor. From 1921 to 1926, he served as director of the State Historical Archive of Georgia.
Research Interests
Kakabadze's research focused primarily on Georgian history and literature. He paid particular attention to the legacy of the renowned poet Shota Rustaveli. Kakabadze authored over 100 scholarly articles and monographs on various historical and literary themes.
