Saxon Rice is an Australian politician who has served as the Queensland Minister for Public Works and Housing since 2020.
Early Life and Education
Saxon Rice was born on June 15, 1976. She holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney and a Master of International Law from the Australian National University.
Political Career
Saxon Rice began her political career as a member of the Western Australian Legislative Assembly for the Labor Party from 2001 to 2008. In 2012, she joined the Liberal National Party of Queensland and was elected to the Queensland Legislative Assembly as the member for Mount Coot-tha.
Rice has held several ministerial positions in the Queensland government, including Assistant Minister for Technical and Further Education (2012), Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier (2015), and Minister for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships (2016-2017). She was appointed Minister for Public Works and Housing in 2020.
Personal Life
Saxon Rice is married to Thomas Rice. They have one daughter, Imogen Anderson Rice, who was born on February 6, 2014.
