Edgar Allan Poe-Esque horror writer, known for his series of occult detective stories featuring Jules de Grandin. Quinn's first story was published in 1917. He launched the Jules de Grandin series in 1925, which he continued until 1951.

Occult Detective: Jules de Grandin

The first book, a short novel entitled "Roads," was published in 1948 with a print run of just over 2,000 copies. An unusual Christmas story, it explored the origins of Santa Claus from the dawn of the Christian era.

Legal Career and Literary Circle

While writing was a hobby for Quinn, he pursued a career in law, becoming a leading authority on mortuary jurisprudence. Quinn was part of the same literary circle as Robert E. Howard, H.P. Lovecraft, and Clark Ashton Smith.
