Biography of Sekou Oliseh

Sekou Oliseh is a Nigerian and Liberian football player, playing as a right attacking midfielder and forward for the Moscow-based team, CSKA. He was born in Liberia and fled to Nigeria with his family in 2002 due to the civil war. Sekou spent some time in a refugee camp where he began playing football for the club "Ibidey," which was coached by Churchill Oliseh, who adopted Sekou and gave him his surname.

In 2006, Oliseh transferred to Danish club Midtjylland. He made his debut for the first team on October 26, 2008, playing a total of 6 matches for Midtjylland. In the summer of 2009, he trained with Moscow's Lokomotiv but did not sign a contract with them. On August 31, 2009, the last day of the transfer window, Oliseh was loaned to CSKA Moscow. He made his debut for the team on October 4, 2009, in a match against Kuban, immediately scoring a goal and providing an assist. After the season ended, he signed a 5-year contract with CSKA on "very favorable terms for CSKA," according to CSKA's CEO, Roman Babaev.

In August 2010, Oliseh received a call-up to the Liberian national team. On August 15, 2010, he scored his first professional career brace in a match against the Mahachkala-based club, Anzhi. Later, in a match against Sibir, Oliseh scored the winning goal, securing a 1-0 victory.

Sekou Oliseh scored a goal against the Zimbabwe national team in his debut match for the Liberian national team during the qualifying tournament for the Africa Cup of Nations, resulting in a 1-1 draw. His adoptive father, Churchill Oliseh, currently manages the football club "Ibidey," and his paternal uncles, Sande and Igutu, are also professional football players. Oliseh won the silver medal in the Russian Championship in 2010 and the Russian Cup in 2010/11.
