Biography of Lukas Podolski
Lukas Podolski, a German footballer of Polish origin, is currently a forward for the Turkish club "Galatasaray". He was born on June 4, 1985, in the Polish city of Gliwice. Moving to Germany at the age of three, he grew up and studied in his second home country, where he also has a sister.
Early Career
Podolski started playing for the German national team at the age of 19. His first opportunity came on June 6, 2004, when he was already 21 years old and had already scored 15 goals for the national team. Two of those goals were decisive in a match against Sweden during the 2006 World Cup, where Germany defeated Sweden 2-0, and Podolski scored both goals.
