Early Life and Club CareerCelso, a Brazilian footballer, was born in São Paulo and began his football journey at the age of seven. At age 15, he joined Portuguesa Desportos and made his professional debut in 2006 against Guaratinguetá, where he scored a penalty to secure a 3-2 victory. During his time at Portuguesa, he amassed over 50 appearances.
Move to Russia
At age 16, Celso moved to Russia to join FC Lokomotiv Moscow, who paid €5 million for his transfer. Due to his underage status, Lokomotiv employed his mother, brother, and girlfriend to facilitate his stay in Russia. His salary of $500,000 was significantly higher than his previous earnings.
Struggles and Loan Spells
Celso's debut for Lokomotiv was against Spartak Moscow, resulting in a 1-2 loss. Despite excelling in training, he faced challenges in official matches due to injuries, including hamstring and groin surgeries. Consequently, he only played six games for Lokomotiv, scoring a goal in a victory over Rostov. In 2007, Celso was loaned to Sporting CP in Lisbon, making seven appearances during his three-year loan stint. He subsequently joined Estrela da Amadora on loan, where he played 12 games and contributed one goal and an assist.
Return to Brazil and Club Hopping
Following his Portuguese loan spells, Celso's nightlife activities drew attention. In 2009, he attempted to secure a contract with Botafogo but failed a medical test. He then underwent trials with Santos and Oeste, but his physical condition prevented him from signing. He briefly returned to Portuguesa in 2010, expressing his joy and determination to help the club succeed.
Youth International Career
Celso represented Brazil's U-17 team and played a pivotal role in their silver medal win at the 2005 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
