Sergei Abolymov is a Russian musician and the frontman of the rock band "Sergei Abolymov Band" (SA/BO). The band was formed in 1996 with the aim of creating a project that combines Russian and English language songs in the hard'n'heavy style.

The band's lineup includes Tarvo Valm on guitar, Rene Piirkop on guitar, Marco Atso on drums, and Indrek Kasesalu on bass. Abolymov and Valm are the main songwriters for the group, combining Valm's heavy rhythmic guitar riffs with Abolymov's melodic vocals.

In 1997, SA/BO recorded their first single, which gained attention when one of the songs started playing on Finnish radio station RADIO MAFIA. The band was even dubbed the "Russian Ozzy" by the Finnish and Swedish music scenes. They released their second single in 1998, followed by their first full-length album, "Love Kills," in July 1999. The album was recorded in Tallinn at the Matrix audio studio and received high praise for its sound quality and technical production level, which rivaled Western standards.

SA/BO's music has a wide appeal, even to listeners who don't typically enjoy heavy music. Their songs are known for their relatable and "human" lyrics, which resonate with a broad audience. The band incorporates acoustic elements into their music, showcasing their versatility and songwriting skills.

The band has recorded two cover versions: "Ty dryan" (originally "She goes down") by Gotthard and "Come Together" by The Beatles. They plan to release an album of cover songs by artists like Black Sabbath, Kiss, Deep Purple, and Alice Cooper.

SA/BO has also produced two music videos: "I Play Heavy Rock" and "Song of the Angry Addict." The videos capture the energy and atmosphere of the band's live performances and have received positive reviews.

In recent years, Sergei Abolymov and his band have been focused on promoting their music in Russia and Europe. They are working on an English-language version of their album to appeal to Western audiences.
