Sergei Demagin: A Talented Forward in Russian Ice Hockey

Sergei Demagin is a Russian professional ice hockey forward who started his career in 2005 with Belarusian Extraleague club HC Dinamo Minsk.

Professional Career in Minsk

As a highly skilled player, Demagin made a significant contribution to the success of HC Dinamo Minsk. However, in 2008, he signed a contract with the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL). After a brief time overseas, he returned to Minsk in October 2008. Subsequently, Demagin extended his contract with Minsk before the start of the 2009/10 season but was sent to their farm team after playing only seven games in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).

Move to Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk

In October 2009, Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk claimed Demagin through waivers, where he spent the remaining season, scoring 28 points in 53 games. He then rejoined Minsk for the 2010/11 season, amassing 25 points in 54 games.

Return to Neftekhimik and Stints with Other Teams

In May 2011, Demagin returned to Neftekhimik due to improved contract terms but was placed on waivers after scoring only two points in the first 16 games of the season. He then played for HC Diesel Penza in the Russian Hockey Championship and eventually signed with Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk in November 2011.

International Representation

As a member of the Belarusian national team, Demagin participated in the 2006 World Junior Championship Division I, helping his team advance to the top tier. Additionally, he represented Belarus in the 2007, 2009, 2010, and 2011 World Championships and the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. In total, Demagin played 31 games for Belarus, recording 11 points.
