Early Life and Education

Andrei Dynko was born in Belarus and pursued a degree in journalism from the Belarusian State University, graduating in 1984.

Journalistic Career

Dynko began his career in journalism at the Literature Department of the Belarusian Soviet Encyclopedia. He later joined the editorial staff of the newspaper "Gomel'skaya Pravda" and the Department of Criticism and Arts of the magazine "Neman" (1987-1990).

Political Activism

In 1990, Dynko became the editor of the newspaper "Svaboda." He also joined the leadership of the Belarusian Popular Front and participated in the publication of its newspaper, "Naviny BNF."

Foundation of "Nasza Niva"

In 1991, Dynko founded the newspaper "Nasza Niva" and served as its editor until 2000. This newspaper became a notable voice in the Belarusian media landscape.

Radio Broadcasting

Beginning in 1997, Dynko hosted the daily program "Vostraya Brama" on the Belarusian service of Radio Liberty. In 1998, he was awarded the Ales Adamovich Medal by the Belarusian PEN Center for his contributions to this program.

Literary Works

In addition to his journalistic work, Dynko has also published several literary works. These include the collection of prose, essays, and critical articles "Experiments" (1991); the book "Diary of a Private Man" (1998); and the anthology of radio programs "Vostraya Brama: Belarusian Cultural Context at the Turn of the Century" (2005).
