Early Career and NHL Draft

Born in Minsk, Belarus, Andrei Bashko is a professional ice hockey defenseman who has played for various teams throughout Europe and North America. In 1997, he was selected 68th overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the third round of the NHL Entry Draft.

Club Career

Bashko began his career with HC Tivali Minsk in the Belarusian Extraleague before joining the Las Vegas Thunder of the International Hockey League (IHL). He also played for Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the Russian Super League, the Hamilton Bulldogs in the American Hockey League (AHL), and Metallurg Novokuznetsk in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Additionally, he spent time with TPS Turku in Finland's Liiga and Khimik Voskresensk in the Russian Hockey League.

International Career

Bashko represented Belarus at the international level, appearing in 104 games and recording 16 goals and 19 assists. He participated in the 1998 Winter Olympics and several IIHF World Championships, including 1994 (Group C), 1996 (Group B), 1998, 2001, 2003, 2004 (Division I), 2005, 2006, and 2007.

Honours and Awards

Throughout his career, Bashko has achieved numerous honours and awards. He won the Continental Cup in 2007, the Belarusian Extraleague championship in 1994, 1995, 2005, 2006, and 2010, and the Belarusian Cup in 2004 and 2010. He also earned a silver medal in 1996 and a bronze medal in 1993 in the Belarusian Extraleague.
