Biography of Sergey Gotzmanov

Sergey Gotzmanov is a former Soviet and Belarusian football player, known for his skills as a midfielder and forward. He achieved the title of Master of Sports of International Class in 1989.

Career

Gotzmanov spent a significant part of his career playing for Minsk's "Dynamo" football club, where he became the champion of the USSR in 1982. In 1984, he made his debut as a member of the Soviet national team. In 1988, he won the silver medal at the European Championship.

In February 1990, Gotzmanov moved to the English club "Brighton & Hove Albion", and in August of the same year, he was bought by "Southampton" for 150,000 pounds. He played the 1991-92 season for the German club "Gallacher". After that, he returned to Belarus, where he played for "Dynamo" and "Dynamo-93".

In 1996, Gotzmanov relocated to the United States, where he joined the "Minnesota Thunder" club. He currently resides in Woodbury, Minnesota, with his wife Olga, a former gymnast. Gotzmanov works as a school bus driver. His eldest son, Sasha, is also a footballer.
