Biography of Sergey Mikheev
Sergey Viktorovich Mikheev, an aircraft designer and chief designer of AO, was born on December 22, 1938, in Khabarovsk, Russia. He is a Hero of the Russian Federation, a laureate of the Lenin Prize and the State Prize of the Russian Federation, a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the chief designer of OAO "Kamov".

Sergey Viktorovich Mikheev was born to parents Viktor Stepanovich Mikheev (1913-1987) and Evdokia Petrovna Mikheeva (Leonova) (1919-1989). He is married to Raisa Aleksandrovna Mikheeva (born in 1938) and they have two children: Sergey Sergeevich (born in 1963) and Tatiana Sergeevna (born in 1966). Both of their children graduated from Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI), with Sergey Sergeevich working in the "Transtelecom" system and Tatiana Sergeevna working in OAO "Kamov". Sergey Mikheev also has four grandchildren: Viktor (born in 1986), a student at MAI; Ivan (born in 1988), a student at Moscow State University; Ekaterina (born in 1999); and Anastasia (born in 2005). Sergey Mikheev's paternal grandfather, Stepan Ivanovich Mikheev, was originally from Uryum, Russia.
Early Influences
In his childhood, Sergey Mikheev read a book about Sergey Mironovich Kirov called "The Boy from Uryum", which allowed him to imagine how his ancestors lived in a provincial Russian town in the late 18th century. His grandfather, Stepan Ivanovich Mikheev, experienced hardships and served in the Tsarist army on the eastern borders of Russia. After his military service, he settled in Khabarovsk, where he met his future wife, Tatiana Mikhailovna Nikolaeva. Together, they bought a house in the Far Eastern part of the city. This area later became known for the murder of Dersu Uzala, a taiga hunter and the loyal friend of the prominent Russian explorer Vladimir Arsenyev.
