Biography of Seweryn Krajewski

Seweryn Krajewski is a Polish composer, musician, and singer, best known as a former member of the band Czerwone Gitary. He was born on January 3, 1947, in Nowa Sól, Poland, and grew up in Sopot. Krajewski completed his music education at the Gdansk Music School, specializing in violin.

In December 1965, he joined the band Czerwone Gitary, and in 1970, he became the group's leader. Krajewski is the author of numerous songs, including "In Expectation of this Moment," "Such Beautiful Eyes," "Anna-Maria," "Allowed from 18," "Only One Word - You," "We Won't Calm Down," and "Run, My Heart." He was often referred to as the "Polish McCartney."

One of the band's early hits was titled "Don't Stick Your Nose In" ("Nie Zadzieraj Nosa"), composed by Krajewski with lyrics by M. Gaszyński. It was released by the "Melodija" label on a small record along with three songs performed by other musicians.

Personal Life

In the early 1970s, Krajewski married a model named Elżbieta (born 1953). They had two sons, Sebastian and Maximilian. In 1990, a tragic accident occurred where their son Maximilian lost his life. Elżbieta was driving him back from music school at the time. She did not sustain serious injuries, but the loss of their young son plunged her into a deep depression, requiring extensive psychological support. Sebastian followed in his father's footsteps and became a composer, although he focuses on chamber music.
