Biography of Shahzoda

Shahzoda, whose real name is Zilola Bahodirovna Musayeva, is an Uzbek singer who has managed to create an image of a delicate, charming, refined, and educated Eastern woman. She was born as Zilola Musayeva in 1979 in Tashkent. Her family was highly intellectual, with her father being a doctor of philosophy and her mother working as a teacher. Since childhood, Shahzoda has been drawn to music, and despite being a student at the International State University of Kiev's Management Faculty, she decided to drop out and pursue her dream of becoming a singer.

Early Career

Her first professional experience was as a member of the group 'Jonim', but Shahzoda gained recognition through her solo projects. In 2001, she embarked on her solo career under the pseudonym 'Shahzoda', which resonates well with 'Scheherazade'. The success of her first concert was so immense that her subsequent performances in large venues in Tashkent were sold out. She toured Uzbekistan and expanded her popularity to other countries in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), such as Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, the Caucasus, and Kazakhstan.

Musical Achievements

Shahzoda has received numerous awards in her homeland, including the titles of 'Image of the Year' and 'Best Female Singer of the Year' in 2003, 'Album of the Year' in 2004, and 'Song of the Year' in 2005. During this period, she released several studio albums, including 'Bor Ekan' in 2002, 'Baxt Bo'ladi' in 2003, 'Keragimsan' in 2004, as well as 'Faqat sen' and 'Baxtliman' in 2005.

Shahzoda's fame also led her to the film industry, and she began her acting career alongside her rising popularity. Some of the films she appeared in include 'Sevinch', 'Sarvinoz', 'Fotima va Zuhra', and 'Zumrad va Qimmat'.

Russian audiences are already familiar with Shahzoda through her song "Tysyacha i odna noch" ("A Thousand and One Nights"), which became her signature song. The music video for this song, directed by Bakhodir Yuldashev, was a breakthrough. The creators had to travel to New York, Dubai, and Tashkent for the geographically diverse shoot. The result was a colorful video with Eastern exoticism and European quality.
