Shyamal Tirke, a 49-year-old Indian man, endured a harrowing ordeal when a massive abdominal tumor weighing 20 kilograms was discovered in his body. Villagers in his village blamed his condition on a ghost possessing him, leading to a social outcast and familial estrangement. His impoverished family consulted a sorcerer who provided no relief.

Tirke's condition steadily worsened, and his family ceased communication with him, confining him to a room in their home. For an entire year, he endured excruciating pain before finally consenting to surgery.

Medical Diagnosis and Treatment

A medical examination in Kolkata revealed a cancerous tumor known as retroperitoneal liposarcoma, a rare type of cancer that develops in the fatty tissues surrounding the kidneys, pancreas, and bladder. A team of three surgeons undertook a two-and-a-half-hour procedure to remove the massive growth. "This is an extremely rare type of tumor," stated Dr. Parta Sarathi Ghosh, the lead surgeon.

Recovery and Return to Normalcy

Tirke is currently recovering and on the path to regaining his health. Doctors expect him to resume his normal life soon.
