Biography of Siem de Jong
Siem de Jong is a Dutch footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Amsterdam-based club Ajax and the Dutch national under-21 team. He was born in Switzerland and lived there until the age of 6, after which he moved to the Netherlands with his parents and brother.
Early Career
Siem began his football career at the youth club DZC '68. Later, he caught the attention of De Graafschap, and joined their football academy. In 2005, Siem transferred to the Ajax football academy. Just a year after playing for the youth squad, Siem became a member of Ajax's first team.
Debut and Career
Siem made his debut for Ajax's first team on September 26, 2007, in a match against Kozakken Boys, which Ajax won 2-1. He scored his first goal for Ajax against Sparta Rotterdam on October 7, 2007, in a 2-2 draw. Siem's contract with Ajax is valid until 2013.
Family and Personal Life
Siem's younger brother, Luuk, is also a footballer and plays for De Graafschap. Siem has had a successful career, winning the Dutch Cup in 2010.
