Silvino Gomes Soares
Early CareerSilvino Gomes Soares' football journey began in the Brazilian club Vasco da Gama from Rio Branco, where he played in the Acre State Championship. In 2002, he moved to Spanish club Badajoz, but his stay lasted only one season. In July 2003, he joined Dutch third-tier club Excelsior Maassluis as a free agent.
Excelsior Maassluis and Zwolle
Despite an unsuccessful debut season, scoring zero goals in 14 games, Soares spent three years at Excelsior. In July 2007, he signed his first professional contract with Eerste Divisie side FC Zwolle.
FC Zwolle
Soares made his Zwolle debut in August 2006 but scored his first goal a month later, in a losing effort against MVV. He finished the 2006-07 season with 11 goals in 34 appearances.
Red Star Waasland
In July 2007, Soares moved to Belgian Second Division club Red Star Waasland, where he spent two seasons, scoring 10 goals in 60 matches.
ASVH and 's-Gravenzande
In July 2009, Soares returned to the Netherlands and joined amateur club ASVH, which brought him closer to his family in Rotterdam. In February 2010, he moved to 's-Gravenzande, another amateur club based near Rotterdam.
Cape Verde National Team
Soares made his international debut for Cape Verde in May 2008 in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Cameroon. He made another appearance against Tanzania a month later, before retiring from international football in 2009.
