Founding and Lineup

Sleeping with Sirens emerged in 2009 from Orlando, Florida, with roots in bands such as Broadway and Paddock Park. The initial lineup consisted of Brian Calzini (vocals), Nick Trombino (bass), Alex Koehler (drums), Dave Aguliar and Brandon McMaster (guitars).

After a period of uncertainty, Kellin Quinn joined as lead vocalist, prompting Calzini's departure. Quinn gradually assembled a new lineup: Gabe Barham (drums), Jesse Lawson and Jack Fowler (guitars), and Justin Hills (bass). This lineup marked the group's breakthrough.

Musical Evolution

Early in their career, Sleeping with Sirens embraced a heavy sound, incorporating elements of post-hardcore and metalcore. However, over time, they transitioned towards alternative and pop-rock influences.

Their debut album, "With Ears to See and Eyes to Hear," showcased their aggressive style. Subsequent releases, such as "Let's Cheers to This" and "Feel," exhibited their expanding musicality and yielded popular singles like "If You Can't Hang" and "Kick Me."

The Rise to Prominence

"Feel" became Sleeping with Sirens' most successful album to date, reaching the top of the US Hard Rock and Indie charts. However, the band faced a setback with the departure of Lawson due to personal reasons.

In 2015, they released "Madness" on the Epitaph label. While it received critical acclaim, it failed to match the commercial success of "Feel." Nevertheless, the band maintained a dedicated fan base through energetic live performances and memorable singles like "Legends" and "Empire to Ashes."

Challenges and Redemption

During the "Gossip" era, Quinn struggled with substance abuse and depression. However, he emerged from this period with a renewed sense of purpose. In 2019, the band released "How It Feels to Be Lost," an album that candidly explored Quinn's mental health journey.

The album was praised for its raw emotion and poignant lyrics. It also featured the hit single "Agree to Disagree," which reached the top 40 on US Mainstream charts.

Recent Developments

In 2020, Sleeping with Sirens faced the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, postponing their tour in support of "How It Feels to Be Lost." They continue to connect with fans through social media and virtual events.

The band's latest lineup features Quinn, Fowler, Hills, and Mark Martin (guitar). They remain committed to creating emotionally charged music that resonates with their devoted fanbase.
