The Birth of Solaris

In 1999, Dmitry Goncharov and Pavel Voinov, later the guitarist of Ty Cobb, formed their first band in high school. However, it was short-lived. Undeterred, Goncharov continued writing songs and organizing school concerts.

The Foundation of a Vision: The First Full Lineup

In 2002, Goncharov's efforts bore fruit with the formation of a complete band. Over time, the lineup has undergone significant changes.

The Emergence of the D&B and Alt Rock Sound

In 2003, Goncharov collaborated with Mikhail Frantsouzov and guitarist Alexander Konstantinov to create a unique sound that combined drum'n'bass and alternative rock. The group's concept revolved around creating electronic music with meaningful lyrics.

The Arrival of Permanent Members and Demo Success

In early 2004, drummer Oleg Kuznetsov and bassist Alexander Nevsky joined the band, solidifying the Solaris lineup. The band released a demo tape that spread throughout the city, gaining them recognition.

Radio Breakthrough and Growing Success

The song "Last People on Earth" landed on the airwaves of Nashe Radio, propelling Solaris into the national spotlight. In May, the band recorded a full demo album at Diko Records, which was released by Caravan Records. They also reached the finals of the Windows Open Festival competition.

Conquering Moscow and Beyond

In August, Solaris embarked on a successful tour of Moscow, captivating audiences with their energetic performances. In September, they released a music video for the track "Ringing Silence" and became the subject of a documentary film.

The Debut Album Era

In October, Solaris unveiled their debut album to wide acclaim. The lineup at this momentous occasion consisted of:

- Dmitry Goncharov: guitar, vocals, lyrics, music, concept

- Mikhail Frantsouzov: computer
- Yuri Kucherenko: guitar
- Alexander Nevsky: bass
- Oleg Kuznetsov: drums
