Her mother, Sally, is a nursery school teacher, and her father, Andrew, works in warehousing and transportation. When she was two years old, Turner and her family moved to Chesterton, Warwickshire. She attended Warwick Preparatory School until the age of seven, and then enrolled in King's High School for Girls. Turner has been a member of the Playbox Theatre Company since she was three years old. She has two older brothers.
