Croatian Forward Srđan Lakić

Early Career

Srđan Lakić is a Croatian footballer who plays as a striker. He began his professional career in Croatia with Dubrovnik, Hrvatski Dragovoljac, and Kamen Ingrad before making the move to Hertha Berlin in the summer of 2006.

Hertha Berlin

Lakić made his Hertha Berlin debut on August 10, 2006, in a UEFA Cup qualifying round match against FC Ameri Tbilisi. Three days later, he debuted in the Bundesliga in a match against Wolfsburg. In the second leg against Tbilisi, Lakić scored his first and only goal for Hertha, which ended in a 2-2 draw. However, he failed to secure a regular place in the team and only made 11 appearances that season.

Loan to Heracles Almelo

During the 2007/08 season, Lakić went on a season-long loan to Dutch club Heracles Almelo. He debuted on September 15 in a match against Ajax and scored his first goal in the Eredivisie on January 22, 2008, against Excelsior Rotterdam. He finished the season with 7 goals and 28 appearances in the league, becoming Heracles' second-highest scorer.

Return to Hertha Berlin and Kaiserslautern

Lakić returned to Hertha Berlin for pre-season training but quickly signed a three-year contract with 2. Bundesliga club Kaiserslautern on August 6, 2008. He made his debut on August 9, 2008, in a German Cup match against Carl Zeiss Jena, which Kaiserslautern lost 2-1. His Bundesliga debut for the "Red Devils" came on August 15, 2008, against Mainz, which ended in a 3-3 draw. Lakić was substituted in the second half after the team trailed 0-3. He scored his first goal for Kaiserslautern on August 29, 2008, in an away win against Ingolstadt.

Fastest Goal in the Bundesliga

In the 17th round of the 2010/11 Bundesliga season, Lakić scored the fastest goal of the season within 24 seconds in a match against Werder Bremen. It was a personal record for the forward.

Move to Wolfsburg

At the end of the 2010/11 season, Lakić joined Wolfsburg as a free agent.

International Career

In 2005, Lakić won the European Under-21 Championship with the Croatian U21 team.
