Early Life and Education
Stephanie Lemelin was born in Sewell, New Jersey, and holds both Canadian and American citizenship. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2001 with a dual degree in Communications and English. Lemelin also spent a year at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, and interned at Network 9.
Career in Film and Television
Lemelin began her career in the entertainment industry in 2007 as a writer and producer for In-Motion Pictures. She wrote screenplays for films like "Absolute Fear" and "Special Ops." In 2008, she branched out into voice acting, providing her voice for a character in "Kung Fu Panda: Secrets of the Furious Five" and for various commercials.
Lemelin's breakthrough came in 2010 when she landed the lead role of Artemis in the popular animated series "Young Justice." Artemis was largely an original creation for the show, but she was embraced by fans of the original comic books.
Advocacy for Animals
Lemelin is a passionate advocate for animals and has been involved in several charitable organizations. She joined the board of Angel City Pit Bulls in 2010 and has also worked with Free Arts for Abused Children, Best Friends Animal Society, and Pup My Ride.
